This was described to me from the importer as a commercial coffee. For those who don't know it normally means it's a blender to bulk out something and comes with a lower price tag. So imagine my delight on the cupping table the treat that was El Salvador Everest SHG turned out to be. It doesn't deserve to be hidden so that's why it's hear, a must try.
The SHG stands for Strictly high grown and means the coffee was grown at some of the highest altitudes the country can offer. It is expected that the higher grown the coffee is the better the quality is, I judge on taste but its good to know. Luckily this is good coffee on its own or as a blender.
In the cup its balanced, with floral and coffee blossom notes. Taken darker it becomes a little meatier and fuller bodied. |
