Firstly we only sell 100% Blue Mountain that can be verified and traced back to where it came from. We won't sell you a blend of it or something that isn't. So when you compare our price for this coffee with others ask why others are cheaper.
My first ever exposure to Jamaican blue mountain was this very farm, Mavis Bank. This huge plantation is one of the most famous on the island had huge investment and lots of work had been done, since that first time I cupped it and this years crop is reaping the benefit
The story of Blue Mountain for me is a sad one. A once truly great coffee that got over produced over hyped and sadly doesn't live up to its reputation on the whole. With most of the good stuff going to Japan (over 70% of all Blue Mountain grown does so) its tough.
Don't expect this simple but famous coffee bean to blow you away, its the only thing in the world I know of that fetches a premium for being OK at everything. Its balanced its mild its smooth but doesn't excel at anything, its OK. I enjoy it every now and again and its a real event coffee, that if you haven't done it then you should.
