Description:
Yemen is on the Arabian Peninsula in Southwest Asia and is a part of the Middle East, bordering the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden. But it's on the edge of North Africa and shares more in common with African coffee.

Yemen Mokha Mattar is grown in the rugged mountains of Yemen. Its one of the granddads of the coffee world and one of the most unusual and distinct coffees.

The lack of rain in this region makes this coffee very different. Add to this the beans are processed by the dry method this is a unique coffee indeed.

This Yemen has the typical winey flavours, sharp acidity yet smoothness of character with chocolate overtones of with a heavy body. I don't like acidity in espresso but this is divine. But then in the french press its good.

I need to tell you that I haven't stocked this for a while. Not because its not good, because I love it. But it's very chaffy in the roast and it has caused us in the past a couple of chimney fires. But this sample came through and I thought wow so its back, until the local fire service tell me no more.
