I'm not entirely sure when something becomes tradition, though for seven years now we have produced a Christmas special that's only available for the month of December in which we try to encapsulate Christmas in coffee. We only offer this as ROASTED BEANS and when it's gone, it's gone. This is the espresso blend, we also offer a filter blend too.
It has been harder to formulate the blend this year. Normally our Christmas coffee revolves around Yemen as a base, but as we don't have any at this time, the blend has had to be built from the ground up.
The espresso blend contains:
40% Sumatra Wahana Pulped Natural
This provides some boozy apple style bite, sherry meets cider in a booze fest, with spicy black pepper.
40% El Salvador Los Amates
Here we get blackberry with some spicy ginger and rich dark chocolate.
20% Sumatra Raja Batak
From this comes a heavy body, syrupy flavour, spiciness and tones of dark chocolate.
Together these create a spicy, full bodied espresso with dark chocolate tones that is simply amazing in the cup. A great espresso that is available for a limited time.
