I'm not entirely sure when something becomes tradition, though for seven years now we have produced a Christmas special that's only available for the month of December, in which we try to encapsulate Christmas in a coffee. We only offer this as ROASTED BEANS and when it's gone, it's gone.
This is the espresso blend: we also offer a filter blend.
It has been getting harder each year to formulate the blend, as each year I want it to be more special than the last.
The espresso blend contains:
50% El Salvador El Bourbollon
This provides some toffee and milk chocolate, and a lovely mouthfeel.
30% Indian Balmaadi Pulped Natural
Here we get toasted nuts, dark chocolate, and a whole heap of body.
20% Kenya Kiri Peaberry
From this comes a lively acidity mixed in with blackcurrants and blueberries.
Together these create a full-bodied espresso with dark chocolate tones, along with some hints of fruit and a mouthful of Christmas spirit that is simply amazing in the cup. A great espresso that is available for a limited time.
