Hello to all and welcome to the first ever Has Bean
newsletter! Keep this email safe because in years to come you will
be able to say I was there at the start! With this being the first
in the newsletter I feel that I should try and describe what this
newsletter is all about and set a format to follow. The aim of the
newsletter is to keep you all informed about new beans coming into
stock, old ones leaving and fun stuff to do with coffee that is
out there. It is also a place for your comments so please email
me at newsletter@hasbean.co.uk
1. New additions
There is a really exiting bean arrived. For those
who know me I'm sure you can remember my joy at the first parcel
from Jamaica arrived containing blue mountain. Well now we have
some Jamaican Blue Mountain Peaberry. I haven't roasted any yet
(its a scary business roasting a couple of hundred pounds in coffee!)
but hope to soon. As soon as I have tasted it I'm sure you'll get
to hear about it. A welcome also goes out to the Ugandan Robusta
we have been able to source. I'm a great fan of Italian espresso
and all good Italian espresso contains a little Robusta. Not enough
to affect the taste but enough to give you good crema and a little
caffeine boost. If you like to blend your own coffees then this
is a must. Both of these coffees are available now on the website
2. The Staffordshire Green Awards
Has bean has been put forward to receive an award
for Green award for care of the environment. The awards are part
of Stafford Borough Councils agenda 21 initiative and the awards
will be held of Thursday the 3rd of October we'll let you know more
in the next edition.
3.Fair Trade
Part of the green awards is tied in with the fact
that we supply fair trade coffee's. Fair trade is important to Has
Bean and as you tell us important to you. Whilst surfing the net
I found this article, a good read when you have a spare 10mins its
it pdf format just click the link http://www.fairtrade.org.uk/spilling.pdf
4. Christmas Blends With Christmas around the corner,
I thought I would take this opportunity to ask for your opinions
on Christmas blends. What do think typifies Christmas what would
the masses like? Drop me a line at steve@hasbean.co.uk with you
ideas.
5. Any other business Thanks to everyone who has
placed an order or pointed out any bugs or problems with the site.
It has been a massive job and I'm pleased to say looking at it a
worthwhile one. I've added a few paged to the site with a couple
of extras and hope to continue to do so. With the extras being in
the BETA stage any comments, bugs and alike would be gratefully
received. The link is http://www.hasbean.co.uk/extra.htm
