1. New Additions

Another busy month has meant that once again we have lots of new additions
to the range, with some really exiting beans.

Guatemala Maragogype Black Bull (ref 210), Cost: £4.20 per 250g bag

Maragogype is hybrid of the coffee world. It is called the "elephant bean"
for its larger size. It is thought that because the Maragogype produces
fewer cherries on the tree the taste becomes more concentrated, and in this
case it is true. This coffee has a medium body and a bright fruity acidity
that turns into a honeyed sweetness. Medium Roast

Kopi Luwak (ref 309), Cost: £32.00 per 250g bag
Kopi Luwak (ref 310), Cost: £17.00 per 125g bag

Kopi Luwak – Now there’s a story behind this one. There’s a cat like monkey
creature called a Luwak that lives in the forest of the Sumatra region. Now
the Luwak loves to eat berries and all sorts of other jungle stuff which he
has no problems digesting. But his favourite food is the bright red ripe
berry of the wild coffee plants that grow in his habitat. But the coffee
cherry doesn’t agree with our friend the Luwak and gets pooped out. It is
then hand picked by someone with the worst job in the world to bring you the
most unusual tasting coffee in the world. It’s special, rare and expensive
but you know you want to try it! Its earthy taste is unique and it’s unusual
after taste will make you reach for the pot for a second cup. Medium roast.
Due to the excessive cost we offer kopi Luwak in two sizes follow the links
below.

Burma Myanmar Chaung Gwe plantation (ref 311), Cost: £8.99 per 250g bag

>From south East Asia This Burmese single origin coffee from north east of
part of Myanmar is a little bit special. On the Chaung Gwe plantation they
100% hand pick 100% hand screen and 100% hand wash. In the cup you get a
dark chocolate taste with hints of clove and liquorice that’s just divine.
Best at home in the French press or filter machine this is a special treat.
Medium Roast

Kenya Kariru (ref 102), Cost: £4.15 per 250g bag

If you haven't tried Kenyan Coffee, why not? As a growing region Kenyan’s
can be slightly acidic so tend to be best suited to the filter maker or
cafetière. Its only here you can really delve into the silky smooth
beverage, and experience the rich, winey flavours with blasts of
blackcurrant. This single origin Kariru is one of the best Kenyan examples
we have ever tried. A must try for the budding gourmet coffee buff, or just
someone who like good coffee. Medium Roast.

Costa Rica La Meseta Tarrazu (ref 206), Cost: £3.90 per 250g bag

This Costa Rican shares many qualities with Kenyan it is both balanced and
deep, and in our opinion best at home in the filter maker / cafetière. Costa
Rican coffee is always good. But to be different it needs that wow factor.
La Meseta Tarrazu has the typical high note, with its bright citrus flavour.
But what makes it stand out is the exquisite chocolate and spice that runs
through your mouth in the aftertaste. Medium Roast.

2. Stocks Running Low

This month we have waved goodbye to Ugandan Robusta, Kenya AA and Costa Rica
San Marcos. The replacement for Kenya and Costa Rica are fantastic and a big
improvement on beans that were already our favourites.
