Hello and welcome to edition four of the Has Bean newsletter. If
you missed
any of the earlier ones they can be found at www.hasbean.co.uk/news.htm
First let me apologise for the lack of Newsletter in January, it’s
been a
busy old month at Has bean so sorry.
1. New Additions
WOW each month I say we have some great coffees, and I'm right.
But this
month it’s amazing. With the increase of customers it has
meant we can
expand the range, and we have found some real gems.
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe (ref 101), Cost: £3.95 per 250g bag
Yirgacheffe is a town in Sidamo region. Our journey since we last
stocked
Yirgacheffe has involved Djimmah and Sidamo. Each of these has left
us
thinking why it doesn’t taste as good as the Yirgacheffe.
Don’t get me wrong
each had something which made them interesting but Yirgacheffe is
just so
special. Its acidic and citrusy tastes would make you think it has
no place
in the espresso machine, but this is something different. Its sweetness
in a
blend is fantastic, but on its own its stands well. A Great addition
to the
has bean range. Medium/Dark roast

Kenya Gethumbwini (ref: 102), Cost: £4.15 per 250g bag
If you haven't tried Kenyan Coffee, why not?. As a growing region
Kenyan’s
can be slightly acidic so tend to be best suited to the filter maker
or
cafetière. Its only here you can really delve into the silky
smooth
beverage, and experience the rich, winey flavours with blasts of
blackcurrant. This single origin Gethumbwini is one of the best
Kenyan
examples we have ever tried. A must try for the budding gourmet
coffee buff,
or just someone who like good coffee. Medium Roast.

Columbian Supremo Single Estate "La Manuela" (ref 210),
Cost: £3.95 per 250g
bag
Columbian coffees are well known for the consistency. There smooth
rich and
so so good. But it’s difficult to get single origin Columbians
as most of
the farms are too small to produce there own, so lots of farmers
in an area
pool together. But this Columbian is a single origin from the “la
Manuela”
estate its fantastic. We have stocked this bean before and we had
to bring
it back for a second time due to popular demand it’s that
good! Medium to
Dark roast

Guatemala Huehuetenango El Injerto Estate (ref 211), Cost: £4.00
per 250g
bag
Those in the know say that Guatemalans are some of the tastiest
and full
flavoured coffees around, this one is no different. At a recent
cupping this
stood out as one of the group’s favourites of the night. It’s
a fragrant,
long lasting, pleasant coffee with good acidity and a pronounce
long lasting
body, yet another must try. Medium roast

Brazil Santa Terezinha (ref 212), Cost: £4.00 per 250g bag
We already have a great Brazilian coffee, so why another? Well
its quite
different to the Cachoeira, much more fruity, but still with that
Brazilian
smoothness. Fantastic in Espresso great on its own. Dark roast

2. Stocks Running Low
This month we have waved goodbye to Honduras La Flor, China Boashan
A, Kenya
Kariru and Ethiopian Djimmah.
3. Bialetti
We have increased our selection of Bialetti Mocha pots. We now
stock both
the Bialetti Kona, Bialetti Star and the Bialetti Class. We have
also
managed to get the replacement seals for these too. Take a look
at
http://www.hasbean.co.uk\offers\bialetti.htm
4. Coming Soon
Coming soon is a very exiting development in the world of Has Bean,
and home
coffee roasting, more in the next newsletter.
