Hello and welcome to edition four of the Has Bean newsletter. If
you missed
any of the earlier ones they can be found at www.hasbean.co.uk/news.htm
1. New Additions
Another big month with some great beans. We have a fantastic Costa
Rican a
great Cuban and a perfect pre blended espresso.
Costa Rica Naranjo Bandola (ref 214), Cost: £3.00 per 250g
bag
This fine single origin Bandola Coffee is grown, and processed
by the
farmers in the famous region of Naranjo, Costa Rica. This is a very
unique
coffee with balanced body and superb aroma. This year's harvest
is
outstanding with fruity hints, exceptional bursts of spice, and
the superb
brightness that defines the best Costa Rican coffees. It’s
a brand new
harvest that’s has only just reached these shores. In early
samples at
cupping, it was bought before I even knew what it was, it’s
that good. This
is defiantly my favourite bean of the moment. A must try.

Cuba Serrano Superior (ref 213), Cost: £3.00 per 250g bag
Cuban coffee is unique in both its taste and aroma. Its also quite
difficult
to get hold of as a lot of it goes to Japan in export. You can be
assured if
the Japanese want this coffee then its got to be good. With its
deep rich
malty taste and syrup like tang. A great after dinner coffee.

Brazil Espresso perfeito Blend (ref 1029), Cost: £3.00 per
250g bag
This pre blended espresso is a wonderful fusion of some of the
finest beans
Brazil has to offer. This 100% arabica, is made for the espresso
machine but
is just as at home in the filter maker/French press. But here we
will
concentrate on the espresso machine, with it’s silky smooth
texture and
sweet high notes that tantalize the taste buds. And the best is
saved till
last with a lingering after taste that’s simply divine.

And something a little unusual.
Hand Made soap with Has Bean Blue Mountain with Vanilla (ref 622),
Cost:
£2.95 each
This soap made by our friends at Cracker House is a great gift
idea. Made
with our very own roasted Jamaican blue mountain, it helps remove
unpleasant
odours like fish and garlic. A must for any cook. Rich in olive
oil to give
a gentle bar of soap.

Whirly Popper (ref 830), Cost: £38.95 each
The 6 Quart Whirly-Pop Stovetop Popper is a great way to try home
roasting.
With it being stove top you can add the heat and stop when ever
you want so
you’re in control of the roast. You can see the beans all
the way through
the roast and if the smoke gets too much then just remove the heat.
With its
wooden handle it stays cool while you roast. Just rotate the crank
to keep
the beans moving and stop them burning.

2. Stocks Running Low
The old brown Java draws to a close but fear not as the Cuba is
a great
replacement. Expect Costa Rica La Meseta Tarrazu, to be gone by
the end of
the month, but once again we do have the new bandola which is an
excellent
replacement. All other stocks are fine at this time.
3. New at Has Bean
We have re vamped our prices and postage system, in an effort to
make things
easier when comparing our prices with other websites and also to
pass on
savings for bulk purchasing. Postage costs £1.05 per item
to a maximum of
£5.00 for 5 items or more. Unlike some internet retailers
we show the
running total of the goods and postage in the shopping cart so there’s
no
nasty surprises at the checkout. We have also reduced many of our
prices in
our strive to bring you a good cup of coffee at a fair price.
4. Home Roasting
At Has Bean we have always been at the fore front of promoting
home coffee
roasting. That’s why we are proud to announce the start of
The Home Roaster
web site at www.thehomeroaster.co.uk
. It is a one stop shop for all your
roasting needs. With great opening offers take a look now.
5. Coffee in Europe
We know that if you're buying coffee from us then you care about
your cup.
There are many sites out in the world wide web that can give you
coffee
information and advice, but many of these are North American in
their
outlook which means they are sometimes less relevant to us as Europeans.
However there is a European web community which has lots of articles
and
other coffee related information. Membership is by request, but
an email to
admin@toomuchcoffee.com will start the process if you're interested.
Why not
take a look at www.toomuchcoffee.com,
the European web community for coffee
lovers.
5. Funny bits
While surfing I came across these cartoons. Some are really bad
but if you
scroll through the pages there are some gems. Sees of a few moments
and
raises a smile.

As always I would like to thank you for your continued support,
I talk with
many of you either via email or on the telephone and its a real
pleasure
talking to you all. So please get in touch and tell me what you
think of the
site, newsletter and of course the coffee.
