Hello and welcome to volume 2 edition Eleven of the Has Bean newsletter.
If you missed any of the earlier ones they can be found at www.hasbean.co.uk/news.htm
1. New Additions
More beans more equipment for your coffee enjoyment. We have a
great Mexican Peaberry a wonderful El Salvador and an unusual pre
blended espresso that’s very special and a special price on
an old favourite.
Mexico Santa Rita Pearl Peaberry (ref 201), Cost: £2.95 per
250g bag
Peaberries are prized for their richer, more intense flavour, the
annual crop only produces a small number of Peaberry, so were lucky
to be able to source some. We searched for years finding Peaberry
worthy of inclusion then two come along in one month. This coffee
works really well in espresso blending (much to our surprise), with
its smooth edges and silky finish. But try it on its own, and your
sure to be impressed by its rich mouth feel. Demands to be dark
roasted. Dark Roast.

BSCA Daterra reserve Espresso Blend (ref 205), Cost: £5.95
per 250g bag
This blended coffee is the final product of over 30 years work,
to find the perfect espresso blend. Now although a blend its grown
on the same farm and same region. The farm is split into micro farms,
which are watched constantly by scientists who measure soil acidity,
rainfall and anything else that can be measured. What it produces
in the cup is a very sweet espresso that has a very clean taste.
It’s a very balanced cup that is a MUST for the espresso drinker.

El Salvador Finca La Fany Bourbon (ref 215), Cost: £3.20 per
250g bag
The Fany Farm has been producing coffee in El Salvador since 1870,
and has passed from the same family from generation to generation.
The farm provides work for 24 families in there community. Located
in biological corridor, that stretches from Mexico to panama for
27 hectares, full of 100% of bourbon coffees. This shade grown coffee
is creamy and sweet, and blew us away when we first tried it. The
cup leaves you with a mouth full of caramel, another fine coffee
from has bean.

a timer on the base so you can set it to wake up to fresh coffee.

2. Stock Running Low
We have had to say goodbye to the Columbian relationship for the
time being (more on the way), and many beans seem to be literally
flying out the door with kenyan and Brazilian Cachoeira practically
going well, but we will endeavour to keep the stocks there.
3. While we Browsed
Never one to miss a chance to promote the wonderful Hottop Home
Roasting machine, we thought we would remind you of an article that
can be found at Our friends, at Too
Much Coffee. Read its detailed report at www.hasbean.co.uk/offers/tmc1.htm
and follow the life of the owner of this machine and the ups and
downs. A must read for any potential buyers of the roaster.
4. Changes at Has Bean
Has Bean has grown over the past few years at an amazing rate and
we must thank each and every one of you for that. Unfortunately
the Shopping cart hasn't grown at the same ate and I know from some
of your emails this has frustrated a few of you. Although its been
going on for a while now I wanted to let you all know our new cart
is currently being tested by the developer and has incorporated
many of the features to have asked us for. It has taken a little
longer than we originally expected as we want to make sure that’s
its just right. When something is built specifically for the site
and not an of the shelf package testing obviously takes a little
longer. But the end result should be a much improved shopping experience
for you the customer, and hopefully make our life a little easier
too. Thanks for your patience and here’s hoping we can move
on this very soon.
As Always I just like to say a big thank you to all of you, for
making Has Bean the fun place to work that it is.
Steve
