Hello to all and welcome to the third Has Bean newsletter
Has bean (i.e. me and Sarah) loves your hear your comments so please
email me at newsletter@hasbean.co.uk
1. New additions
Loads of new beans in the Has Bean range and goodbye
to some of the old familiars. Hello first of all to Australian Skyberry
Plantation extra Fancy Grown in the Australian highlands, this full
bodied, mellow and mild coffee is a must try. Its soft chocolatey
undercurrent is ideally suited for filter machine. By country origin
alone, this is one of the rarest of all coffees. Skybury coffee
is one of the finest Arabica coffees of its type available on the
market today, what are you waiting for? Medium Roast.
And next we have China Baoshan A Arabica There are
three provinces in China grow coffee: Yunnan, Hainan and Fujian.
But the best coffee is grown in Yunnan and it is the only place
in China that could plant Arabica coffee. Most of the coffee trees
are planted between altitude of 800 to 1300 metres. According to
ICO coffee experts, the quality of Yunnan arabica coffee is near
to Colombia coffee. It is different from other coffees for its mild
body, fruit flavour and strong aroma. Baoshan growing region is
recognised as one of the finest in china an interesting addition
to the has bean collection. Medium Roast
As well we have Bolivian Organic Has Bean has jumped
on the organic bandwagon, but not after trying hard to find just
the right bean. This one being the unanimous winner. Lets dispel
some rumours though; most coffee is grown organically, it's just
that when you're growing beans thousands of feet above sea level,
the organic association don't want to come up to the plantation
to certify them. The only way they can be enticed is with money.
This means most of the organic beans available are of poorer quality
and that's why we have had such a problem getting a good quality
organic bean. So now Has Bean is proud to offer this fine organic
coffee. A superior cup of coffee which blends the characteristics-
smooth and mellow flavours of South America with some hints of flavour
typically found in African and Indonesian coffees. For the world
coffee explorer, this is a new and rewarding adventure. Medium Roast
Honduras la flor This Honduras coffee is a light
coffee with a bright crisp flavour, hints of citrus, and good body.
A Good morning drink. Medium Roast.
Indian Cherry AB Robusta is poor member of the
coffee family, but when you taste this coffee against any other
robustas from around the world it shows it true colours. Its clean,
rich and has a silky fell in the mouth. I would never drink Robusta
on its own but use it as a blender coffee, but Indian cherry stands
up well on filter and makes a pleasant high caffeine drink to wake
you in the morning. Dark Roast
And finally Jamaican Blue Mountain Organic This
is 100% Blue Mountain, the only beans we personally import. It's
the highest point in exclusivity and quality and organically grown.
A balanced, classic coffee with rich flavour, full body, and a smooth
yet vibrant acidity. When you hear so much about something and wait
so long we thought it could be a disappointment. We're glad to say
it was all that was expected. Due to its high cost we don't hold
large amounts in stock, so an email to check availability is necessary.
Medium Roast.
2. Stocks running low
The last of the Jamaican Blue Mountain has finally
run out. It will return in the new year though There is still some
peaberry and organic though. The Sumatra DP has all but gone and
is removed from the internet catalogue. I hope to replace it in
the new year. Also gone is the unpopular Costa Rica Slightly Hard
Bean. A beautiful bean that just hasn't sold well. I hope to have
some more available in the new year but it very much depends on
demand for it. With the arrival of the Bolivian organic the Colombian
has now been removed from the catalogue.
3. CHRISTMAS! Merry Christmas to you all and don't
forget there is still time to place an order to reach you for Christmas.
We will be taking orders right up until the 20th of December for
delivery before Christmas. Of course we will be here over Christmas
and roasting again on the 27th for dispatch, for any new years hangovers
you may have.
4. The site Some of you may have noticed the site
was not available for six days at the beginning of the month. This
was a technical error that was a nightmare to sort out. Sorry for
any one who tried to get onto the site and rest assured it wont
be happening again (please)! In the new year we are due to appear
in Internet Magazine with a two page feature so keep a look out
for that.
5. Any other business A repeat from last month but
thanks to everyone who has placed an order its been real fun talking
to you all. Thank you for making Has bean online a success Enjoy
your coffee
