Hello and welcome to edition Eight of the Has Bean newsletter. If you missed any of the earlier ones they can be found at www.hasbean.co.uk/news.htm

1. New Additions

For the first time this year we have added some new beans to the catalogue. Its a long process to get something worth adding but we think we have done it this time.

Indonesia Java Blawan (ref 305), Cost: £3.95 per 250g bag

Java is largely about thick body, and a really good Java will be deep, with a touch of earth in the cup, and when the roast is right it will have striking bittersweet chocolate tastes. Well this is a good Java and works just as well a single origin, and not just as a Mocha Java blend. Dark Roast http://www.hasbean.co.uk/offers/java.htm

Mocha Java Blend (ref 405) Cost: $4.70 per 250g bag

The full body, low-toned Java combined with the medium-bodied, more acidy Mokha coffees works as one of the greatest blends. Its just so at home in the filter machine. The two complimented each other and resulted in a more complex cup than either provides by itself. It's not difficult to take 2 excellent coffees and make an decent blend from them, but this really does work. Dark Roast http://www.hasbean.co.uk/offers/mocha.htm

Yemen Mocha Mattari (ref 505), Cost: £6.95 per 250g bag

At Has Bean we a pleased to offer this really fruity, aromatic Yemen Mattari. Coffees called Mattari are from the Bani matar region east of the capital of Sana, grown on the mountain landscape. These are some of the highest-grown coffees in the world. The first thing you notice about this bean is its smell. Its spicy, ripe fruit, woody smell jumps out. The taste is loaded with natural flavours and each cup seems slightly different. Another must try. Dark Roast http://www.hasbean.co.uk/offers/yemen.htm

Bodum range grows again!!! There is now some great entry level French presses added to the ever growing Bodum range. take a look at http://www.hasbean.co.uk/offers/bodum.htm

2. Stocks Running Low Everything is in stock and there's plenty of it. The Brazil Santos was missing for a week or so, but is now back and better than ever.

3. While I Browsed The search for funny coffee stuff goes on. I found this little gem at http://www.coffeecomics.com/023103.htm made me smile any how.

On a more serious note I've put up a copy of an article out of the Financial Times titled Coffee's crisis stirs traders to take action By Sara Silver at www.hasbean.co.uk/Coffeescrisis.htm .

A good read.

Thanks to you all for your continued support
