Description:

A Cup of Excellence lot from the late 2009 competition. This coffee didn't arrive with us until February 2010, but it has been worth the wait.

This coffee is grown by Mario Mamani Machaca from the Yungas Region, close to the city of Caravani. The area is rich in coffee production, and it is situated close to the Bolivian Machacarmarca that I love so much. Mario lives on the farm with his wife, Luisa Yana, and their three young children.

This coffee finished 8th out of 30 in the Cup of Excellence competition, but don't be fooled into thinkinf it is only the 8th best coffee in the competition that day -  I think it should have been placed much higher.

A tiny lot that wont be around for long, and a must try, so don't hang about.

In the cup expect big, sweet chocolate, with stone fruit (plum) acidity that is amazing in brewed coffee but really excels in espresso because of its huge body. This one is a true cup of coffee excellence.
