Until moving to Scotland, I'd lived in the US and Canada for 40 years. Naturally, I'm addicted to the high caffeine filter coffee that we drink in North America. In my opinion, it should be medium-roasted and flavorful, but mild enough to drink black. People who really enjoy their coffee buy the roasted beans and grind them right before putting them into a french press (cafetiere) or filter pot.
I couldn't find this type of coffee in Scotland; not at the grocery store and not in the cafes. The Italian-style stuff here is fine, but all of the beans for sale seem to be either low quality or roasted for expresso - too dark for regular coffee. I was really depressed about the coffee situation until I discovered HasBean.
Now my husband and I get a new bag of coffee every week - enough for 1-2 pots a day - and the quality is always excellent. It's really cool getting to try the different varieties, too. We often watch the InMyMug videos to learn more about the coffees. Perhaps most impressively, once my British friends tried my Hasbean coffee, they stopped asking for tea.
HasBean's customer service is excellent, too. When we moved, one shipment failed to arrive, and it was replaced in less than a week.

The subscription service is excellent - and very good value.
Getting a different coffee every week is a superb way to try out coffees I'd otherwise never have tasted, and to experiment with coffee from locations I'd never have considered.
The fact that the weekly subscription matches the coffee described in "In My Mug" means that I'm getting educated about coffee as I try the different beans.
The coffee arrives reliably - Royal Mail permitting - perfectly packed.
I will definitely be renewing my subscription.

This is excellent value for money and makes Monday a day to look forward to.
This is the only business I have found that treats you as a friend not a customer, and offers you a chance to taste some of the best coffee in the world.
A First Class service from a First Class Business which has given me the delight in tasting the excellent coffee beans they sell.
