Episode 737

Villa Sarchi is a Costa Rican varietal, a natural mutation which was discovered near the town of Sarchi. It's a dwarf varietal which has become a firm favourite there, but is super rare to see grown in other countries.

At La Alondra, it forms a great counterpart to the Caturra. Both Washed lots, the Caturra has the classic Honduran, balanced profile, whilst this Villa Sarchi has elements more familiar to the Costa Rican cup profile of intense white sugar or fruit sweetness.

Super sweet with a generous heap of sweet candy floss, a delicate and juicy peach edge rounding it out.
