Ibrik Ibrik Cezve Jezve Čezve джезва Džezva Ibrik Ibrik!
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls this is the one you've been waiting for, the brew method that's going to take 2014 by storm...please put your hands together and say hello to the Ibrik!
Ibriks are used to brew Turkish coffee which dates back to Ottomans in 16-17th centuries, coffee is finely ground and then simmered in a pot (the Ibrik / Cezve), usually with sugar (if being traditional), and then served in a cup where the grounds are allowed to settle.
I don't think Turkish coffee gets a lot of love and I think that's because people don't fully understand just how tasty it can be, with a little patience and a little love you can make really delicious Ibriks! Also it's a brew method that lets you play with fire, any brew method that involves fire is always good!
On offer here we have 2 different styles of Ibrik...1 with all stainless steel construction (pot and handle) and 1 with a stainless steel pot with a Bakelite handle. The all stainless steel Ibrik is available in 7oz, 12oz and 14oz while the Bakelite handled version is available in 28oz.
Not suitable for use on an induction hob.
Officially these beauties are, "for making Turkish-style coffee, warming milk, melting butter and making sauces" so as well as brewing you delicious and tasty Turkish coffee they'll also melt the butter for your garlic dough balls or help you concoct an amazing blue cheese sauce to go on your steak! Versatile or what?! Much as I love my Chemex I can't make cheese sauce in it...
We have also made a great brewing guide to go with the launch of these, see below.
