The Little Bakery, Edinburgh

When Jasmine Ghazanfar and her daughter dreamed of opening The Little Bakery in Queensferry, Edinburgh, it was born from a love of great desserts and coffee. After her daughter trained as a baker, she and Jasmine began pursuing a lifelong dream to open a bakeshop and set out to find a great wholesale coffee partner that would pair well with sweet treats, breakfast and more.

They took over an existing café, and after lots of hard work, learning-on-the-go, investment, and training & support from the Hasbean wholesale family, The Little Bakery was born in 2015.

The early days weren’t always a cakewalk but The Little Bakery soon became a beloved spot in Queensferry. The property they took over had no production facilities for pastry baking, which meant baking at home and bringing cakes to the shop daily, and they were met with lots of surprises and learnings as first-time business owners. When it came to choosing a wholesale coffee supplier though, finding and working with Hasbean was easy as pie.

They discovered Hasbean through a Kensington coffee shop that we supplied, whilst their son was visiting various cafés to explore the best brews in London.
"We found it overall the best crowd and staff pleaser,” said Jasmine.

Several years later, our partnership is still standing, and we’ve been proudly by The Little Bakery’s side as they’ve grown from a small business to a local Edinburgh favourite.

Jasmine says, “Hasbean have been a company that have always provided input and support when required when it comes to coffee, machinery and staff training. The beans provided by Hasbean have always been of a high standard, which mirrors the products we offer so they go in sync together.”

Jasmine and her daughter have fully revamped The Little Bakery, giving it a beautiful redesign with a signature neon and floral look and plenty of seating for customers. They now serve breakfast and brunch alongside a rotating menu of pastries and cakes. It’s become a neighbourhood favourite in Queensferry and attracts visitors and locals from all over Edinburgh. Check out The Little Bakery next time you’re in the area, and be sure to enjoy their special Hasbean blend and a signature treat!
