It may not seem remarkable, but most coffee is decaffeinated in Canada or German, increasing its environmental impact through travel. Decaffeinating coffee at origin increases its value, and its value to the country it comes from. As a result, we’ll always try to source decaf coffee that’s processed at origin.
The producers behind El Yalcon are committed to quality and excellence. Their coffee is grown along an isolated set of mountains in the Andes and travels through several neighbouring towns. It represents Colombian coffee from 24 unique, individual producers from the municipalities of La Plata, Nataga, Paez, Pital and Tesalia. Once it’s grown and picked, the coffee is carefully hand-sorted and processed at each farm. Special attention is paid to the drying process to ensure consistency, uniformity and a clean cup profile.
