A quarter-century ago, in 1998, Ozone Coffee was born in the coastal surf town of Fitzroy, New Plymouth. Inspired by the coffee plantations they explored in San Salvador, founders Karen and Jamie Hodson began a remarkable journey. Over the years, Ozone expanded to London, opened numerous cafes and eateries, joined forces with Hasbean, but most importantly, had the privilege of meeting incredible people and creating unforgettable coffee experiences.
You will notice celebratory Ozone 25 roundel stickers on your bags of Hasbean coffee over the coming days and weeks to celebrate this milestone and say a big congratulations to everyone who's been involved in every moment of the journey.
Hasbean and Ozone joined forces in July 2018 when Ozone acquired Hasbean. The two brands were already hugely aligned on core values and singe 2018 have operated side-by-side learning from each other, sharing resources and knowledge, and celebrating the best parts of each other's business. The people behind both businesses have stayed the same and each has moved from strength to strength over the last 5 years, and we couldn't be happier to be celebrating 25 years of Ozone Coffee Roasters.
As time moves on and we look to capitalise on operational efficiencies, there will be some alignment between the two brands and changes to visual identity will be made. You will notice the wording on our coffee bags has changed to "Hasbean by Ozone Coffee" and this is one small step in our joint journey towards becoming the ultimate coffee hosts and providing you with the very best quality freshly roasted specialty coffee.
